London-based educational advice service seeks dynamic and
committed Oxbridge-educated graduates as Advisors & Tutors on the
Oxbridge Mentoring Scheme (OMS) pilot. As an OMS Advisor, you will
operate in central and greater London (within the M25) and will
provide the interface with client schools and the sponsoring
parent(s) of students who come aboard the scheme. You will provide
an account management function, overseeing the progress of OMS
students from start to finish. You will have top-notch presentation
skills since you will be involved in presentations to dispel the
Oxbridge myth to students thinking of applying to Oxbridge. You
will ideally also have experience in mentoring, teaching/tutoring,
interviewing students, facilitating course and college choice,
advising on writing UCAS and Oxbridge statements, tutoring and
leading Oxbridge-style mock interviews. Alongside a genuine interest
in educational issues and helping students achieve their academic
(and personal) goals, you will be a strong team-player, have
excellent organisation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Up-to-date knowledge of the Oxbridge admissions process and
Oxbridge-run school initiatives is valuable but not a prerequisite
(all successful applicants will be given full briefing). Ownership
of PC/laptop, access to the internet, and London-based

Advertisement for OMS Tutors:
London-based educational advice service seeks well-rounded
Oxbridge-educated graduates in all subjects to join our tutor/mentor
network providing tutoring, mentoring and advice services relating
to our Oxbridge Mentoring Scheme. You will operate as itinerant
tutors working with school students or private clients. Tutoring
will focus specifically on helping OMS students prepare themselves
for the Oxbridge admissions process by setting focussed reading and
practise questions from entrance test past papers. Knowledge of HAT,
BMAT, LNAT, TSA and STEPS is helpful. You will also critically
review student personal statements sent to you by email and
undertake academic Oxbridge-style mock interviews (guidance and
briefing will be provided). Alongside a genuine interest in helping
students achieve their goals, you will have excellent organisation
and interpersonal skills. Teaching/tutoring experience essential for
some OMS elements but not others. (Tutors are not required to take
on all OMS elements but can specify which they wish to take
involvement on the application form). Since only part-time
involvement will be required, the roles are suitable for Oxbridge
graduates in post-graduate education or established as tutors
