We guide students into gaining the knowledge, skills and confidence in preparation for the Oxbridge admissions process but cannot guarantee university places. Insight Education cannot be held liable for the unsuccessful outcome of a student from the Oxbridge admissions process. Insight Education is not responsible for the actions of individual Oxbridge Mentoring Scheme (OMS) Advisors, Tutors or E-mentors. All clients using the OMS, or elements thereof, are subject to our terms and conditions, child protection policy and privacy policy (all of which are available on our website www.insight-ed.co.uk).

Although Insight Education strives to ensure the accuracy of information this cannot be guaranteed at all times and it accepts no liability if information proves inaccurate. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Child Protection Policy

All representatives of Insight Education are aware that they should promote and safeguard the well-being of students who undertake the OMS.

The following are guidelines of how Insight Education representatives, teachers and parents can work in partnership whilst the OMS is being undertaken to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

General

  • Teachers and parents may request to see the CRB certificate of any OMS Advisor/Tutor.
  • Teachers and parents may request at any time to be copied into email correspondence between students and OMS Advisors/Tutors.
  • Teachers and parents should note that OMS Advisors/Tutors are under instruction to discourage anyone other than the student from sitting in the room in which the OMS is being delivered. It is important that student thought processes are not interrupted or inhibited.

Working on school premises

Teachers should note that:

  • OMS Advisors/Tutors have been instructed to ensue that a teacher remains on site and within easy reach from the room in which they are conducting service elements in the event of matters/issues arising for immediate attention in regard to the student concerned.
  • OMS Advisors/Tutors may enquire into (and familiarise themselves) with the route to the nearest emergency exit from the room in which they are working in the event of a fire.
  • OMS Advisors/Tutors cannot give lifts home to student

Working on premises of private client

Parents/guardians should note that:

  • OMS Advisors/Tutors must ensure that a parent/guardian is on site and within easy reach in the event of matters for urgent attention.

Working at mutually agreed venues:

  • The signature of a Parental/guardian may be requested on a pre-drafted permission slip for a student to undertake the OMS at a mutually agreed venue.
  • Parents/guardians are requested to remain contactable and within easy reach whilst the OMS is being conducted.

Privacy Policy

Our Commitment to Upholding your Privacy

This Policy describes the sources of information and the type of information that we may obtain from you, the circumstances in which it may be used or shared with others and the steps that are taken to protect your privacy.

In the course of our relationship with you Insight Education may obtain personal information about you to help us to deliver the highest standards of service to you. In return we will treat this information in an appropriate manner.

When your relationship with Insight Education terminates, we will continue to treat your personal information, to the extent we retain it, as described in this Policy.

The Sources of Information

Sources of personal information that Insight Education will collect in course of a working relationship with you will be via the following:

  • Website forms e.g. Parent & Teacher Registration form, Student Registration form, Interview Feedback form and the OMS Evaluation form.
  • Interview proformas used in Preliminary, UCAS form and Mock Interview.

The type of information collected about you

Insight Education may collect the following type of information about you through the registration forms and OMS evaluation forms, Oxbridge Interview Questionnaire and interview proformas:

  • Your name, address and other contact details
  • Your school
  • Your academic performance to date
  • Information relating to your intended course, university and college
  • Information recorded in answer to questions relating to motivations, extra-curricular activities and future goals during interview sessions.
  • Information relating to your Oxbridge interview experience.
  • Your comments relating to how the OMS could be improved for the future.

Use of Personal Information by Insight Education

We may use your personal information for:

  • The administrative purposes of the company in order to facilitate and manage our working relationship with you.
  • The improvement of OMS.
  • Contacting you by post, telephone, email, facsimile in connection with your registration and booking onto OMS.
  • Contacting you for clarification of information given in forms and proformas.
  • Reminding you of forthcoming bookings onto OMS.
  • Recommendations or advice concerning other OMS service elements that may be of benefit to students.

Insight Education may use the information by students in their Oxbridge Interview Questionnaires in the following ways:

  • To contribute to an online database of information in the future.
  • For the preparation of future Oxbridge interview candidates.
  • To contribute towards company research (obtaining statistics to monitor the success rate of the OMS)
  • Future publications and marketing material (incorporating quotations from questionnaires)
  • For contact in regard to clarification of information.

Disclosures of Your Personal Information

When sharing your personal information Insight Education will adhere to the Data Protection Act (1998) regarding the protection and processing of personal information. We will not sell your personal information.

Disclosure of your personal information will be to the purpose of providing efficient and reliable services to you. Insight Education does not disclose your personal information to third parties, except as described in this Policy. Personal information may be shared with third parties (e.g. Advisors, Tutors, Mentors) who assist in providing services to you. Third party disclosures may include sharing such information with those that provide professional, legal, or accounting advice to Insight Education. Third parties are required to maintain the confidentiality of such information and on receipt of it may use it only in the course of providing services and only to the purposes dictated by Insight Education.

We may also disclose your personal information (i) by your express consent or (ii) as instructed by you to protect our rights and interests and those of our business partners.

Protecting Your Privacy

Insight Education is committed to implementing safeguards for the security and protection of private and confidential personal information. We restrict access to your personal information to those authorised representatives of the Oxbridge Mentoring Scheme as described under Disclosures of Your Personal Information and all such persons are instructed to operate to high standards of privacy to protect the information against loss, misuse, damage, modification and unauthorised access or disclosure.
